GO MP40PH-3C Delivery Completed

The final delivery of the first order of MP40PH-3C locomotives is now completed.
GO 623 was delivered last night or early this morning. It was in the west end of Willowbrook Yd early this morning.
An order for another 20 MP40s is expected at the end of 2009 into 2010. GO 627-646.

Information just received today indicates that GO Transit will purchase an additional 20 new MP40PH-3C locomotives from Motive Power Industries (MPI) in Boise, Idaho. Deliveries will commence in late 2009 and continue through to 2010, and will bring GO's MP40 fleet to 47.

On Tuesday, the F59PH locomotive storage lines were getting a little
longer at GO Willowbrook in Mimico as more of the new MP40PH-3C
locomotives arrive, and go into service.

A partially obstructed view looking NE toward the west-
end of the GO Transit Willowbrook yard this afternoon in Mimico shows
GO 562 doing the shop switching chores and new GO 620 now facing
westbound sitting in the sun. The 620 arrived just over two weeks ago facing
east, the correct direction at GO. No reason as to why the 620 was wyed.

Rare Back-to-Back F59 Doubleheader.

GO transit operated it's usual doubleheader F59PH consists this past weekend with the exception of one rare back-to-back F59 configuration. Units involved were GO 520 and GO 562 (facing west).
